পর দিবস সাহেব প্রাতে প্রাতে উঠিয়া হুকুম করিলেন।
খিদমতগার চিলম্চি ও পাত্র করিয়া জল আন। মুখ ধুইব।
সাহেব জল প্রস্তত মুখ ধুন।
নাপিতকে ডাকহ ক্ষৌরী হইব।
সাহেব নাপিত আসিয়াছে হাজামত হউন।
নাপিত কোথায় আমি চুল বানাইব।
সাহেব এই যে আমি হাজির আছি।
বেহারা ধোপ বস্ত্র আনহ আমি কাপড় বদলাইব।
সারথিকে হুকুম দেহ গাড়ি তৈয়ার করুক। আমি বেড়াইতে যাইব।
সারথি গাড়ি শীঘ্র তৈয়ার কর।
কোন গাড়ি তৈয়া করিব চারি ঘোড়ার কি দুই ঘোড়ার।
চারি ঘোড়ার গাড়িতে ঘোড়া যোড়।
খানসামা হাজরির মেজ দেহ আমি তাগাদা ফিরিব। বড় মেজ সাজাইও আর২ অনেক সাহেবলোক হাজরিতে আসিবেন।
সাহেব তবে বড় দালানে মেজ লাগাই।
A GENTLEMAN GIVING ORDERS.
Next day the gentleman rising in the morning ordered:—
Khidmutgar, bring the chillumchee and ewer with water; I want to wash my face.
Sir, water is ready, please to wash your face.
Call the Barber, I will be shared.
Sir, the Barber is come; please to be shared.
Where is the Barber; I want my hair dressed.
Sir, I am he; I am present.
Bearer, bring clean linen. I will change my clothes.
Give orders to the Coachman; let him get the carriage ready; I will go an airing.
Coachman, make haste, get the carriage ready.
which carriage shall I get ready; the coach and four, or the chaise and pair?
Get ready the coach and four.

Khansaman, lay the table for breakfast; I will soon return. Get the great table ready; several gentlemen will breakfast here.

রূপার বাসনকূসন বাহির করিও।
যে হুকুম সাহেব সমস্ত প্রস্তুত করিলাম প্রায়।
সারথি দক্ষিণমুখে ঘোড়া মুখে হাঁক ______ সাহেবের বাগান তাঁগাইদ যাইব।
সাহেব সে বাগানে যাওনের রাস্তা নাই রাস্তা বন্ধ হইয়াছে।
কি কারণ বন্ধ হইয়াছে। কবে অবধি বন্ধ হইল তুই কি তাহা দেখিয়াছিস।
সাহেব দিন পাঁচেক হইল বাগানের সম্মুখের পথের নর্দামা ভাঙ্গিয়াছে তাহার মেরামত হইতেছে অতএব গাড়ির পথ বন্ধ।
আচ্ছা। তাহার নিকটপর্য্যন্ত যাও।
সারথি ঘোড়া বহুত কাহিল কেন।
সাহেব কাহিল নহে। গরমি কালের কারণে কিছু শুস্ত হইয়াছে।
না। আমি বুঝি তোমরা এ সকল কায তদ্দারি কর না।
মাফিক বরাওর্দ্দ খোরাক পায় না অতএব দুর্ব্বল হইয়াচ্ছে।
আমি আজি ঘরে যাইইয়া খুব তদারক করিব খাতিরজমায় থাকহ।
সাহেব গোলামের তক্সির কি। এ কাযে আর২ চাকরেরা মুক্তিয়ার। সইশ ও ঘাসিয়াড়া আছে
ভাল। তাহারা আছে বটে কিন্তু তুই সকলের সরদার ইহাতে তাহার তোকে মানে না কি।

ভাল ঘরে যাইয়া তাহার তজবিজ করিব।
গাড়ি এইখানে রাখ আমি এথাহইতে হাঁটিয়া যাইব। গাড়ি যাওনের পথ বন্ধ।
গাড়ি ফিরাইয়া রাখ আমি শীঘ্র ফিরিয়া আসব।
গাড়ি ফের স্বস্থানে লইয়া যা।
বেহারা বুট খোল।
যে আজ্ঞা সাহেব খুলছি।
বেহারা গরম পানি আন।
সাহেব জল তপ্ত করিতে চড়াইয়াছে তৈয়ার হইলে আসিয়া শীঘ্র আনিব।
কি। গরম পানি এখন পর্য্যন্ত তৈয়ার হয় না আমি না গাড়িতে যাওন কালে হুকুম দিয়া গেলাম।
সাহেব তৈয়ার হইল প্রায়।
কি বলিস। তোরা বুঝি আমার হুকুম মানিস না। ভোর বেলায় হুকুম দিলাম যে কাযে সে এখন তাগাদি তৈয়ার হয় না।
সাহেব তকসির হইয়াছে আর রাগ করিবেন না।
এ কেমন তকসির বাহিরের সাহেবলোক এ ঘরে হাজরিতে আসিত তাহরা আইল না ইহাতে রক্ষা যদি আসিত তবে কি হইত। আমার বড় লজ্জা হইত।
সাহেব গোলামে রদের তকসির হইয়াছে মাফ হুকুম হয়।

সাহেব মালিক যাহা করেন করিতে পারেন।
বেহারা তোমার আজিকার তকসির মাফ করিলাম যদিতু আর কখন এমত কর তবে সেই দণ্ডে ছাড়াইয়া দিব।
যে হুকুম সাহেব গোলামের আর এমত তকসির হবেক না।

খানসামা আজিকার মাখন বড় মন্দ।
সাহেব গোয়ালা বেটা তবে বুঝি বাসি মাখন আনিয়া থাকিবেক।
এই বটে। গোয়ালা সষ্টতা করিতে আরম্ভ করিল তাহাকে দূর করিয়া আর এক জনকে আন।
বহুত আচ্ছা সাহেব কালি আর এক জন নূতন গোয়াল আনা যাবে।
রুটিওয়ালা বেস রুটি দেয় তাহাকে দুই টাকা এলাম দেহ।
রুটিওয়ালা তুই কল্য প্রাতে আসিস তোর মাসকাবারের টাকা ও এলাম দুই টাকা পাবি।
তৎকথা।
মসালচি হাত ধুইবার জল আন।
বাবুরচিকে কহ অদ্য খানা শীঘ্র প্রস্তুত করে।
সাহেব আজি খানা জলদি তৈয়ার হওনের আটক হবে না।
বেহারা চৌকি মেজ মার্জ্জন কর।
সর্ব্বত্রে বাতি দেহ।
মেজের ওপর দুই বাতি।
Sir, you are governor, you can do what you please.
Bearer, I have forgiven you to-day's fault; if ever you do so again, that hour I will discharge you.

The baker gives excellent bread; give him two rupees reward.
Baker, do you come to-morrow morning; then you will get your monthly account paid, and a reward of two rupees.

যে আজ্ঞা সাহেব শয়ন করুন যাইয়া।
খানসামা আমি এ দেশের কথা কিছুই বুঝিতে পারি না ইহার কি হবে।
সাহেব সত্য না পড়িলে এ দেশীয় ভাষা কিপ্রকারে বুঝিবেন।
কি মতে পড়িব এবং পড়াবে বা কেডা।
সাহেব এক জন মাকুল মুনসিচাকর রাখিতে হবে।
মুনসিচাকর কোথায় পাওয়া যাবে।
সাহেব মুনসি এইখানে মিলে আপনি হুকুম করিলে আমি এক জন যোগ্য লোক আনিয়া দিতে পারি।
আচ্ছা এক জন বিজ্ঞ লোক আমার মুনসিগিরির কারণ আনহ। এমন লোক আনিবা যে দুই তিন ভাষা জানে।
যে আজ্ঞা সাহেব উপযুক্ত মুনসি আনিব।
